Schulz's idea that every experience is stored in the body can be used in a variety of ways. In my book, The Intuitive Heart, I suggest that each experience is a potential teaching story. We gain wisdom from our experiences. It is possible that past experiences limit our fresh perceptions of current events as Schulz suggests; on the other hand, it is possible that these experiences, as teaching stories, can be metaphors by which to creatively understand current events. Research has shown that experienced professionals use their intuition more readily than inexperienced ones. If past experiences are used as ways of understanding current events, this relationship could explain the role of experience in the functioning of intuition.
