Fall Convocation Features Student Presentations

Atlantic University's semi-annual convocation (November 17, 2008, in Virginia Beach) is an opportunity to celebrate our students' work. As one example, Jan Kruyff will be presenting his thesis, "Spirituality vs. Science: Finding their Common Values."

Sundance Dream Journal Going Virtual

In the 1970s, Atlantic University sponsored the creation of Sundance: The Community Dream Journal. By its many examples of ordinary folks making constructive use of their dreams, on their own, without professional help, this groundbreaking publication helped spawn what is now known as "the dreamwork movement," having to do with the de-professionalization of dream interpretation. The six issues of the journal are now going virtual, and you can see the first issue at www.creativespirit.net/Sundance-1-1

The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness

By Carl Johan Calleman

Book Summary by Mimi Hoke

The Mayan calendar is based on a philosophy of natural rhythms that are in synch with the cosmic plan and, therefore, prophetic. The Reflecting Self: Would We Lose Our Souls in a World Without Animals?

By Gary Kowalkski

My own children remind me that becoming human is a continuous unfolding. One evening my son was playing with his toys in the tub when suddenly something caught his eye. Reflected in the chrome fixture encircling the faucet was his own image. With a happy smile of recognition, he called out his name, "Noah."
