During my AU studies I took the course on the use of visual arts for healing. I loved it. It got my creative juices going. And it helped me get rid of some fears I had regarding expressing myself. When I ended the course I had a yearning for messing up big time a canvas with colourful acrylic or oil paint. Starting was fearful. I was afraid of not being able to express what I saw in my head, what I thought, what I felt. But I did it anyway. There was nothing to lose. And out they came, one after the other. Oi, this is fun! Ones I liked, others I didn't, but they were all part of me. I experimented copying from real life, or just expressing my inner Self. There are two ways I go about a painting: either I manifest something I've seen in my mind, generally an image (kaleidoscope and energy dance), or I let myself flow and go with whatever the painting takes me (the other three paintings), which is my favorite. Lately, I've concentrated on the flow paintings. When I do these I feel myself wide open, in the moment, filled with potential and freedom. I don't think. I choose the paint my attracted to the most at that moment and then go with the flow, wherever the painting takes me. It brings me to the present and it's so much fun! Like a kid in a playground. It's really uplifting! And now I want to share some of the paintings with you. If you are yearning to create or to express something I encourage you to at least try by any means. You might just find a passion, like I did, or at the very least, you will find yourself facing yourself and learning from it. It's a great journey! God bless. |
